Public Health England confirms flu is now in circulation

Public Health England have confirmed that the A(H1N1)pdm09 influenza strain is now circulating; accordingly, the Department of Health have issued new guidance on the use of anti-viral drugs in primary care for the management of people presenting with flu-like illness.

NICE, PHE, WHO and ECDC have all advised the use of antiviral drugs in treatment, although the viruses characterised this season are well-matched to the 2015-2016 vaccine strain.
