The NHS in the UK has launched it’s “Staywell” campaign to encourage uptake of the influenza vaccine. The campaign urges those eligible for a free vaccine to take up that right. The new website provides links to help people find their local pharmacy.
The flu steering committee (UK) has produced an app to help healthcare managers capture and report flu vaccinations. The app, designed to reduce the burden of administrative work, helps the performance team “report daily on divisional flu performance which is visible on the Trust intranet and via social media”.

NHS Trusts in England and Wales are invited to submit their entries for the NHS employer’s ‘Flu Fighter’ competition.
“It seems counter-productive to try and control the spread of infection by immunising full-time staff but ignoring the many students who have daily contact with patients.”
For the past four years, Scotland has exceeded the WHO’s target of 75% of those eligible receiving the winter flu vaccine.
